Why STEM?

Our free STEM Camp focuses on middle school students, a crucial time when young minds are exploring their interests and possibilities for the future. At this age, engaging with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) can spark a lasting interest that leads to high school readiness and beyond.

Why middle school?

It's simple. This is when students start making choices that will affect their academic paths. By introducing them to the exciting world of STEM, we aim to show them the real, tangible opportunities for careers that not only interest them but can also provide a stable, sustainable income. Careers in STEM are the fastest-growing fields, and they offer a chance to break the cycle of poverty with jobs that are in demand and well-paid.

BSOC STEM Camp is more than just an educational program; it's a stepping stone towards a brighter future. By making this camp free, we ensure that every child, regardless of their family's financial situation, has access to this opportunity. We're not just talking about changing lives; we're actively working to do it, one middle school student at a time.

We are now accepting STEM Camp applications for 2024 for teens entering 6th-8th grade in Lancaster. STEM Camp is FREE!
