Bright Side Opportunities Center Announces Leadership Transition

LANCASTER, PA — [DATE] — Bright Side Opportunities Center (BSOC) today announced that Willonda McCloud, President & Chief Executive Officer, will step down from her position effective January 1, 2027, following a decade of leadership with the organization.

McCloud has served as President & CEO during a significant period of growth and organizational development for BSOC. Under her leadership, the organization strengthened its financial position, expanded programs and community partnerships, increased its community impact, and continued to create opportunities for children, families, seniors, and individuals throughout Lancaster.

“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve Bright Side Opportunities Center and the Lancaster community,” said McCloud. “I am proud of what we have accomplished together and deeply appreciative of the staff, Board, volunteers, partners, funders, and community members who have contributed to BSOC’s continued growth and success. BSOC is an important community resource, and I am confident in its future and the impact it will continue to make.”

During McCloud’s tenure, BSOC expanded its programming and partnerships while strengthening the organization’s operational and financial foundation. The organization also advanced strategic planning efforts focused on sustainability, visibility, organizational culture, financial stability, and continued community impact.

“Willonda has provided dedicated leadership to BSOC and has helped position the organization for its next chapter,” said Dr. Deborah Davis, Chair of the BSOC Board of Directors. “We are grateful for her service, commitment to the mission, and contributions to the Lancaster community. The Board wishes her continued success and is committed to ensuring a thoughtful and orderly leadership transition.”

McCloud will continue serving through the transition period and will work with the Board and staff to support continuity, document key organizational priorities, and facilitate the transfer of responsibilities and relationships.

A CEO Search Committee has been established, and the BSOC Board of Directors will announce additional details regarding the CEO search in the coming weeks.
